Registration Open for Barkcloth Live Sessions

Join us in early September at our live sessions discussing Pacific tapa in museum collections as well as people’s own experience and engagement with it.

Sharing Experiences and Photos:

Engage with museum staff, the general public, Pacific communities and more to share the tradition and beauty of barkcloth. We are so pleased that our friends and colleagues, tapa makers Reggie Meredith Fitiao and Su‘a Tupuola Uilisone Fitiao, will also be able to join in the sessions.

To encourage discussion and engagement, we are asking for museum staff to share a photo or two of tapa in their collections that they may have questions about – or simply think are beautiful! – and other participants are encouraged to share photos of tapa that they have or that demonstrate what tapa means to them. We will gather these photos ahead of time so that they can be shared on screen with everybody in the session.
